My personal requirements

The banquet last night was AMAZING. Everything was well organized, everyone worked hard to make sure things went so smoothly, the speeches were inspiring, the performances were powerful.  I was so happy to be part of a group that works so well together to get it done. I am so excited for the next year with all of you! I was absolutely knackered today, though.   But, anyway, here are my personal requirements for the year of the Rabbit: 1. Complete 20 personal projects that I have either started and never finished (like completing the tile grout in my bathroom that I renovated 3 years ago...), or have planned out in my head and just need to make a reality (like the pergola with handrails on the steps in front of my house so that my aged father can get up them more easily). 2. 3650 minutes of meditation.  It's said that practicing mindfulness and the ability to quiet your thoughts has untold benefits to the rest of your life.   3. Do 12 Craft projects.  I used to make lots of things.

I'm back

I had COVID once before, in September 2021, and I didn't feel right for WEEKS afterwards. But this time I feel much better and I honestly think it's because I've been keeping up with my sit ups and push ups. Tonight's class still kicked my ass a bit, but I got through it! I am also thankful for the opportunity to watch the level 2 class while waiting for dragon dance practice. There are lots of good lessons to be gleaned, and it's really cool seeing the level that the green belts and up have gotten to through years of hard work and dedication.

Gung Hey Fat Choi

Happy New Year! COVID was not how I wanted to start things off, but every challenge presents new opportunities. I'm working on finding the fine line between pushing myself and not straining myself.  I do find that keeping moving is helping me feel better, but my body very quickly lets me know when to take a sit. So, I will not be even trying to do 1000 sit ups and push ups, but I will do regressions of the usual 140.  And we'll see how things are tomorrow...
